Style Files: What I Wore To Jury Duty

So a few weeks ago I had to perform my civic duty and attend jury duty.   I was really hoping I would not be selected but I had a sneaking suspicion that I would have to go since the last time I was summoned was in 2020.  For obvious reasons jury duty was canceled at that time and I have to admit that I was relieved.  Anyways…back to current day… I logged onto the portal after 5pm the day prior to my assigned date as instructed and discovered I had to report for jury duty.  Fine. After the emotion wore off, the next thing I thought of was “WHAT SHALL I WEAR?”

One thing about me, I'm not going to pass up an opportunity to give em a look!  Now I knew there was not a dress code per se but one could assume business casual.   Definitely nothing too flashy.  Whatever the case, I was going to look cute.  That’s for sure.

Although I have embraced bold colors and prints in my wardrobe, black is and will always be my default.  It is forever chic, classy and sexy.  And I know how to style it so it’s far from boring.  I did keep my makeup to a light “natural” beat but I still wore some of my jewelry because I NEVER go without it.  So what if I set off alarms while going through security. And yes I'm in the bathroom flicking it up.

Look 1

I chose this knit dress and put a T-shirt over it because I didn’t want to show any skin.  The blazer gave it a classic professional touch but these boots let you know I might get the party started later.

Purse - Badgley Mischka

Blazer - Kasper (thrifted)

T Shirt  - H&M

Dress - Freshman 1996 (thrifted)

Boots - Cape Robbin

Purse - Schutz

Look 2

I gave the casual look of this sweatshirt bodysuit and black denim/jeans a little razzle dazzle with these fringe ankle booties. And yes I click clacked through the courthouse halls in my shoes.  What were they going to do?  Arrest me?  I think not.

Sweatshirt Bodysuit - Shop Nak’s Closet

Jeans  -  BP (Nordstrom)

Earrings - Aldo

Look 3

I have had this dress for months now and I have never worn it.  It actually has cut outs on either side but I wanted to keep it “respectable” in the courthouse so I put a black tank top underneath.  I knew I wanted to wear my combat boots but with the length of the dress we would see some skin so I added black lace hosiery to tone it down/cover my skin a bit.

Earrings - Aldo

Lace Hoisery - Calzedonia

Combat Boots - Miss Lola
